Graduated from Dartmouth College in 1817; and from Harvard Law School
in 1820, with an LL. B. degree. He settled in Goffstown in 1820; was a
Justice of the Peace; represented the town in the state legislature from
1830 to 1835, serving with credit. He was solicitor from 1834 to 1837,
and Attorney General of the state from 1835 to 1843. He was also,
circuit judge of the Court of Common Pleas from 1843 to 1847, when he
resigned. He died in Nashua, NH in 1856.
